Why Alpaca?
The sweaters are hand knit in alpaca yarn from the Andean camel of the same name. Alpaca is a natural renewable resource of the Andes.
Sometimes described as a cousin to cashmere, alpaca has a luxurious, soft feel that surpasses even the finest pure wool. In fact, many of our customers who cannot wear 100% wool are very comfortable with their MINKHA alpaca sweaters. Inherent benefits of the MINKHA alpaca sweater include:
- Alpaca is warm and insulating.
- Alpaca is durable: even after years of wear.
- A MINKHA sweater will not pill.
- Alpaca is water resistant.
- Alpaca takes dye well and will not fade.
- MINKHA has a rich palette of over 80 colours.
How to Care for your MINKHA sweater:
MINKHA 100% alpaca sweaters can be carefully hand washed and laid flat to dry. However, the sweaters can also be dry-cleaned. Do not hang your MINKHA sweater, store folded on a shelf or in a drawer.
